The Buena Vista outdoor track and field team wrapped up the 2018 Iowa Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday afternoon on the campus of Central College, and the Beavers picked up one team point with an eighth-place finish in the 4x100 meter relay.
BVU didn't have many individual participants on the day aside from a few field events so the team was primarily involved with the relays. The Beavers placed eigth in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 52.35 seconds, just over a tenth of a second back of Luther. Emily Hoesing ran in the 5,000 meter run and shaved one minute of her personal best mark.
As a team, the Beavers tallied just one point for the championships and took ninth overall. Nebraska Wesleyan won the team title with 202.33 points to finish 14 points clear of runner-up Wartburg College.
BVU will send select individuals to next week's Last Chance Meet at North Central College in Naperville, Ill., on Thursday, May 17.
