Women's Soccer Edged on the Road at Simpson

After sitting through a three-hour weather delay before its match even started, the Buena Vista women's soccer team came up short on the scoreboard with a tough 3-0 loss at Simpson College on Friday night.

The Storm broke the scoreless match midway through the first half, and that's where the score stood at the break.  The two teams combined for only eight shots over the first 45 minutes.  Simpson then held an 8-2 edge in the second half where it added a pair of insurance goals early in the period en route to the three-goal victory.

Senior McKenna Whitehill had a pair of shots to lead BVU (both on-goal), while McKinzie Tjaden added the third shot-on-goal.

Katie Voortmann went the distance in-goal and chalked up six saves.

Buena Vista dips to 1-7 overall (0-3 A-R-C) and is in action again on Tuesday, October 9 when it hosts Wartburg College at 5:00pm.
