After playing a pair of road games last week, the Buena Vista women's basketball team returns home Wednesday night looking to pull the upset of second-ranked Wartburg College inside of Siebens Fieldhouse.

About Wartburg: The Knights have all five starters back this season after finishing 25-3 (15-1 IIAC) a season ago. They're also two years removed from their first-ever trip to the NCAA Final Four. The team is outscoring opponents by an average of over 25.0ppg and are led in scoring by senior preseason First Team All-American Katie Sommer (14.4ppg). Miranda Murphy is also averaging double figures at 11.4ppg with a total of six players chipping in with at least 8.0ppg. As a team, Wartburg is shooting 45.5 percent from the field, 36.1 percent from downtown and 74.7 percent from the free-throw line. Katie Sommer has also dished out 114 assists on the year which is nearly doubled her turnover total. Aryn Jones (5.4rpg) leads three players averaging over 5.0rpg as the Knights outrebound teams by an average of 8.0 per contest. The team's last loss was a 67-63 loss in the opening round of last year's NCAA Tournament.
About BVU: Buena Vista is back home for the first of three straight games and is looking to close out the conference schedue just as strong as it started it. Since winning three of its first four league games, the team has gone just 2-5 since. It just completed the season sweep of Central College this past Saturday with a 63-52 victory and is also coming off a strong 74-62 victory over Simpson the last time it played inside Siebens Fieldhouse. Demers is the team's leading scorer during IIAC play at just under 20.0ppg and is third in rebounding in those games at 8.4rpg. Larsen is just out of the top-10 in scoring during conference play, but is second in rebounding (9.2rpg), third in assists (4.5apg), eighth in steals (1.9spg) and first in blocks (2.5bpg). The team has struggled a bit as of late offensively, averaging just over 56.0ppg over its last four outings after not being held under 70 in its previous six.
A Look Ahead: The Beavers will host Nebraska Wesleyan on Saturday evening at 4:00 p.m. looking to complete the season sweep. It will also be Alumni Day for the Beavers with the women's alumni game set to tip-off at 11:00 a.m.
