Despite playing in extremely windy and cool conditions, the Buena Vista men's soccer team hung tough all night against a tough Loras College team, but the Duhawks were able to take advantage of their opportunities during a 4-0 victory inside of J. Leslie Rollins Stadium.
The Duhawks put the offensive pressure on throughout the match, leading to 31 total shots, including 14 on-goal. Manuel Garcia Aguilar played a stellar match in-goal, saving a number of difficult shots, despite coming up on the unlucky end of the four goals. The first of those came just over five minutes into the contest, when the first shot was initially blocked or saved, but the Duhawk player stayed with it and was able to punch it through off the rebound.
Loras went up 2-0 midway through the first half before a nice move off a feed from around the midfield stripe, allowed for a breakaway run and a goal with under two minutes left in the half. The Duhawks would later go on and add their final insurance goal with less than three minutes to play in the contest.
Noah Bardwell took two shots for the Beavers, including the team's only shot-on-goal.
Aguilar finished with 10 total saves while going the distance.
Buena Vista is now 0-11 on the year (0-2 A-R-C) and will travel to Simpson College on Friday night, October 5, for a 6:00pm match with the Storm.
