Scouting Reports:

Luther -  The Norse and their triple option offense continue to put up strong rushing numbers which makes it difficult for opponents to defend.  The team is second in the American Rivers Conference in rushing offense, averaging 235.3 yards per contest, while scoring five touchdowns.  It has attempted just 84 passes through the first three league contests and average just over 170.0 through the air per game which is ninth.  The team is coming off a 42-19 road loss at Dubuque last Saturday and also has conference losses to Central and Loras as well.  Luther was 6-4 overall a season ago, including a 5-3 clip in league play.

Buena Vista -  The Beavers were in position to win its first American Rivers Conference game of the season last week, but saw a 23-point second half lead disappear as Loras rallied in the fourth quarter with 17 unanswered points, including the game-winner with 48 seconds left, to hand BVU a 44-40 loss.  Despite the loss, quarterback Cole Miller threw for 384 yards and four touchdowns while Eric Pacheco hauled in 10 catches for 225 yards.  Miller is now second in school history with 51 career touchdown strikes, while Pacheco is within 175 yards of 1,000 on the year.  He's currently second in all of Division III in receiving yards for the year. The rushing attack has been a bit more effective over the last few games with Josh Werge rushing for a pair of touchdowns against the Duhawks while the team is averaging 140.0 per contest over the last three outings.  Defensively, BVU has allowed nearly 200 yards per game on the ground during that stretch compared to 246 through the air.  Reed Kruse is the team's leading tackler with 61 total stops.  Patrick Spicer tied a school record with three interceptions a week ago, giving the team eight for the year.  It picked-off just seven passes all of last season.  The defense has already matched its sack total from all of last year as well (16).
