STORM LAKE - Buena Vista junior infielder Bryce Rheault has been named the American Rivers Conference Male Athlete of the Week for his strong play on the field this past week which helped the Beavers go 4-1 overall. He was also the league's baseball position player of the week.
Rheault went 10-for-20 at the plate for a .500 average over the five games. He also walked four times and was hit by a pitch twice to push his on-base percentage for the week up to .593. He had multiple hits in four of the five contests and also scored eight runs and stole five bases.
He connected for his second home run of the year when he launched a three-run shot to give BVU a 5-0 lead in game two against Nebraska Wesleyan on Tuesday night en route to a 9-4 victory and the doubleheader sweep. He carried the hot bat into the weekend series at Luther where he went 6-for-13 with three walks and four runs scored as the Beavers won 2-of-3 over the Norse and pulled within one game of them for second-place in the A-R-C standings.
