STORM LAKE - The Buena Vista baseball team has won five of its last seven games overall and has secure win in two straight American Rivers Conference series, and the Beavers will look to make it three straight series victories when it takes the road for a three-game series starting tonight at No. 18 Coe College.

Inside the Series:
This will be the first time playing each other this year on Friday the 12th at Coe. These two teams have been meeting with each other since 1998. Buena Vista is 29-35 overall when matching up against the Kohawks. The last two seasons, the Beavers and Kohawks have met eight times with Coe on top 5-3. The Beavers look to turn things around against a high-powered conference opponent.
About Buena Vista:
The Beavers look to keep it going after coming off two series wins against conference opponents Central and Loras. BVU is ranked 3rd in the conference entering play this weekend series against Coe which is atops in the conference standings. The Beavers are hitting .291 as a team. Bryce Rheault has been having a great year as he finds himself leading conference play with 31 runs scored as well as 40 hits on the season. He's second in total bases with 54, only three behind the leader from Luther. Gage Smart has been pitching very well as he leads the conference with only allowing three runs to be scored on him as well as being the only pitcher to not surrender a double on the year. He is also responsible for leading the league with only allowing nine hits. Egan Bonde leads the team with 35.1 innings pitched and shares the lead with four wins on the year with Gage Smart.
Coe has been on fire this year finding itself with a record of 21-2 which has put them on top of the conference. As a team, Coe is batting .332 which has been a part of their success on the field this year. Jacob Burns leads the team with 35 hits, ranked second in the conference for runs batted in with 24. With his 35 hits, he has found himself ranked third in the conference in total bases. Coe leads the league in batting average, runs scored, hits, RBI's as well as homeruns. Andrew Schmit leads the team with a 2.25 ERA, but is only 1-1 on the year. Jack Greene is right behind him with a 2.65 ERA but has a record of 4-0 after facing 139 batters.
Coe will go on to face Luther on Tuesday and Mount Mercy University on Wednesday before having a three game weekend series at Simpson College. The Beavers will have a Tuesday game at Nebraska Wesleyan before having a three game weekend series at home against Wartburg.
