The Buena Vista women's cross country team rang strong at the Iowa Conference Championships on Saturday in Waverly, with five personal best times posted among the team's seven runners.
Sophomore Emily Hoesing was the first Beaver to cross the finish line and did so with her fastest time of 26:25 with Tara Harris and Maya Rowe closed behind in personal best times of 26:50 and 27:00, respectively. Alexis Koetters and Elena Vanenko were the final two to run their fastest career times in just over 29:00.
BVU finished ninth overall with 282 points. Nebraska Wesleyan was the team champion with 35, edging runner-up Warburg by 12 points.
Buena Vista will run next at the NCAA Regional Championships on November 11 at Northfield, Minn., at 11:00am.
