Andrew Hoffman gave BVU a quick 5-0 lead with a technical fall to begin Wednesday night's Iowa Conference dual at Nebraska Wesleyan, but it was the Prairie Wolves then running off 30 straight points en route to a 39-15 victory over the Beavers.
Following Hoffman's victory at 184 pounds, NWU recorded three straight pins and then picked up consecutive forfeits to take a 30-5 lead. Nathan Lamas rolled to an early second period fall at 149 pounds as Brad Kerkhoff also chalked up bonus points with a 16-4 major decision. The Prairie Wolves (2-4, 1-3 IIAC) tallied nine points over the final two matches to secure its first-ever Iowa Conference victory.
Hoffman's win was his first career Iowa Conference triumph and his first career technical fall. Lamas improves to 2-4 and registered his first collegiate fall. Kerkhoff is 5-0 in dual matches this season and now 3-0 against conference foes.
