Mechler Fires Career Low to Tee-off Briar Cliff Invite

Freshman Graysen Mechler got her third collegiate event off on the right foot on Friday while carding a career-low 79 during round one play at the Lila Frommelt Fall Classic, hosted by Briar Cliff University.

Mechler went out with a strong 38 on the front nine before posting a 41 on the back nine to break 80 for the first time as a Beaver.  Junior Emily Kim was close behind after an 84.  Katleyn Baltes and Nicole Rohner rounded out the line-up with 104 and 108.  BVU is still without freshman Raelinn Arnold as she contiunes to recover from an injury.

As a team, BVU is in 14th out of 16 teams and just seven strokes out of 13th.  Morningside College registered a 316 to take the clubhouse lead, led by individual clubhouse leader, Maria Zorilla's 76.

Saturday's final round is scheduled to get underway at 8:00am.
