Several Personal Best Marks Reached during Trent Smith Invite

The Buena Vista men's cross country team posted a number of personal best times on Friday evening at the first annual Trent Smith Invitational in Mason City, hosted by NIACC.

Cameron Kaltschnee led the Beavers with a personal best time of 30:20 and taking 40th place overall with Zach Kenny doing the same and coming across just nine seconds later.  Alex Loerts was 12 seconds behind Kenny and posted the third personal best mark of the day while Blake Patten and Josh Garcia completed the race in personal-best fashion with identical 31:58 times.

A total of 50 runners were in the race which was won by NIACC's Brian Jacques in 25:17.

Buena Vista is off again this week as it continues to prepare itself for next Saturday's Iowa Conference Championships held in Waverly and hosted by Wartburg College.  The women's race will start at 11:00 a.m. with the men's race to follow just before 12:00 p.m.
