Dubuque built a 2-0 halftime lead before adding an insurance goal midway through the second half, as the Spartans spoiled Senior Night for Buena Vista on Saturday night with a 3-0 victory over the Beavers.
The Spartans scored the game's first goal less than four minutes into play on a nice cross pass which led to a shot from about 20 yards out. That lead became 2-0 during the 33' and remained that way until the 69'.
Buena Vista was held to only three shots in the contest with Alan Maldanado turning in the only shot-on-goal.
Dubuque totaled 23 shots overall with 10 coming on-goal.
Cesar Gonzalez-Ballesteros registered seven saves in his final career home match while going the distance.
Buena Vista is now 4-11-1 overall, 1-6 IIAC and will wrap up the regular season with a road match at Nebraska Wesleyan on Tuesday, October 24, at 7:30pm.
