Buena Vista pulled out a thrilling one-point victory on the road at Simpson to begin Iowa Conference play this season, and now will look to complete the season sweep of the Storm as the two teams battle to begin the second half of the league schedule on Saturday night inside of Siebens Fieldhouse.

About Simpson: The Storm saw its season-long six-game win streak snapped on Wednesday night with a tough 93-87 road loss at Central. Six of the team's last eight games overall have been decided by six points or less. Conor Riordan (19.5ppg) and Sam Amsbaugh (19.3ppg) rank third and fourth, respectively, in the IIAC in scoring during conference play. Amsbaugh is also tied for third in the league with BVU's Thomas Wisecup in rebounding, averaging 6.6 in IIAC games. Taylor Filbert is the second leading rebounder for the Storm and sixth in the conference with 6.3 boards per contest. As a team, Simpson is fourth in the conference in scoring, averaging 86.8 points per game in league play, while they give up an average of 82.4. The Storm come into today shooting .486 from the field as a team, but they are ahead of only Luther in the conference in three point percentage, shooting .343 as a team.
About BVU: Buena Vista had its best three-point shooting performance of the year on Wednesday night against Luther after making a season-low 18 percent at Wartburg on Monday night. The team is ranked in the top-10 nationally in three-point percentage. Thomas Wisecup was a perfect 5-for-5 against the Norse and led the way with 17 points overall. David Jeffries leads the team and is 10th in the IIAC during conference play in scoring at 15.6ppg. He continues to lead the league in field goal shooting in those games at 62 percent and is tied for third in steals per game at 1.5. Wisecup is second on the team in scoring and tops in rebounding. His 6.6 rebounding average against league foes currently ranks fourth as does his 4.5 assist per game mark. As a team, the Beavers are shooting a league‐best 52.5 percent from the field and are third in scoring at 87.1ppg.
